The Multiple Effects Evaporators operate with reducing pressure from first to last effect. The condensate temperatures also vary in similar fashion. When higher temperature condensate is introduced in the lower pressure effect, it loses its heat content and some steam is produced which is called as flashing. This flash steam can be used for heating in the evaporator for heating. This additional amount of heat recovered from the condensate  reduces the amount of exhaust in first effect.

The exhaust condensate is approximately at same temperature of exhaust steam. Normally exhaust condensate is sent to the feed tank at boiler station for regeneration of steam. The excess heat associated with this condensate is flashed to atmosphere since the feed tank is normally vented. This waste heat is recovered by suitable heat exchanger, which reduces the equivalent quantity of exhaust/high pressure steam.

EES supplied Condensate Flash Vessel (CFV) is a multi chamber vessel where condensate is flashed in a progressive manner till the time all recoverable heat is extracted from the condensate. Highly efficient design of CFV ensures complete heat recovery. Special design of separators ensure zero carryover of the condensate with flash steam. Proper sizing and design makes the CFV compact thereby reducing congestion below the Evaporators.

Properly designed CFV can help efficient heat recovery and reducing the steam consumption of the plant by 2%.

Salient Features
  • Reduces the steam consumption in the boiling house by 2.0–3.0% on Cane depending on the operating conditions of the Boiling House
  • Improves the Condensate management of the Evaporator Station
  • The system can run with one condensate pump each for exhaust and vapour which results in electrical energy saving a minimum 0.5 – 0.6 kWh/ton of cane
  • It is a single unit comprising of different Flash chambers so that it can be installed in the boiling house. Thus, it reduces congestion at Evaporator Station
  • Horizontal construction and compact sizing reduces the congestion below Evaporator Platform
  • Stainless steel construction for lasting life
  • Trouble free and maintenance free design
